Chapter 1: HOMEWORK

Ok people. I have got homework coming out of my ears! And I know I shouldn't do it on sunday but I just have so much and my saturday is completely full! I had my first official track meet on saturday! And I got second place...... out of 3.... :) haha but it was cool because I got 4'8" which is awesome for not having high jumped since april. I really want to do well in high jump this season so hopefully I can go to all the practices and really work hard. The girls I jump with are really sweet and I love them already! The guys are really cool too.
Pretty much I skype and talk to Cameron and Kevin way more then anyone else from home. They are hilarious and always make me happy :) my roommates love 'em too ;) we can just sit on skype for forever not say anything... it's kind of hilarious if you observed our conversations.
This is before the dance party at the hart. It was sooo funnn. We thought it was a black light dance so we wore white.

Our FHE brothers are kind of the bomb.com so we went to their flag football game to support them! IT was freezing but we had fun cheering them on. After we went to their house and watched movies. We are over at their apartment probably everyday now...
This bad boy was just hanging out on the grass after devotional so I figured I would just take a silly picture with it.

I took my first college exam!!! I got a B+ but I'm pretty proud. I took a quiz in foundations of early childhood in the testing center and it was sooooo hard. I think I didn't do so well, but we'll see.

Today at church I lead the music in sacrament meeting.... YIKES. The piano player was playing painfully slow so it was really embarassing because I couldn't control the speed!!! Everyone basically hated me. But relief society was good when I got to lead in there.

I. Love. Sleeping.

I made THE cutest video for my FOEC class. I will post it when its completely ready.

Ummmm so I probably should do my homework now :( Bye Bye

Somebody to Love

So I know what all you are thinking... BYU-I DO. And contrary to everyone's belief I am here to get an education and just have some fun! While procrastinating homework this morning I found this hilarious and awesome video that pretty much sums up BYU-I in a nut shell. ENJOY :)

A Whole New World

Hello:) I am Rachel Marie Roskelley, just your average mormon college student. I know you are probably laughing at the title of my blog, but I thought it was pretty clever! Which doesn't happen too often for me...
Making my first college meal in my daddy's apron
First Day of School!
I attend BYU-Idaho and am in my, i think, second week of college life. It has been a BLAST. I have learned so much in the short time that I have been here, and I know that I have had every experience for a reason.
Taylor, Jessica, Morgan, and I at the Rexburg temple on the first Sunday
I love love love my roommates, Jessica,Taylor, and Morgan. They are all sweethearts and we really get along well. We all do our part to clean up. and we can laugh about pretty much anything. My favorite part about roommates is acting like a family. It's fun just loving one another and looking out for each other.

I've also made some bomb friends up here. I probably spend 60% of the time at their dorm. We have gone to some crazaay parties and such but have always stuck together for what is right and they are all really good examples!!
Ward activity at fat cats

My favorite part of college..... eating whatever I want! And just being on my own schedule. It's the best! Everyone's got to try it sometime. I love my classes. My professors are all amazing and the lectures are very exciting and interesting. I have only fallen asleep a couple of times :) I would like to list a couple of important things everyone should know about college...
1. I love making lists
2. SLEEP, if you thought it was hard staying awake during high school, try college
3. Do everything! Get involved, go to all the dance parties, go to ward activities... you never know who you'll meet and the friends you'll make!
4. Be nice. All anybody wants is to make some good friends. If you are friendly and positive you can make lots of friends quickly!
5. Meet boys. Most of the time they make movie nights more fun.... hehe
6. Join a sports team! I had my first track meet on saturday and it was very exciting and a lot of fun. I will be high jumping for the competitive team.
7. Go to the gym! It is sooooo cool in there!! It has everything you need in there to keep off the freshman 15!
8. Wear perfume/cologne. Can't go wrong with a good smelling person
9. Find a friend with a car. People invite you to things miles away and you don't want to have to bum a ride last minute with random people. Love you Robyn and Jessica ;)
10. Live it up! College is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Oh man I miss my niece and nephew. They light up my life and I love getting updates and photos about them. My friends probably hate me because I screech with delight every time I learn something new about them or get a picture.

This place is different and it's true I do get homesick occasionally, but I'm so grateful to be here and I can't wait to see what this whole new world has to offer for me.
